Chess Education

Chess Wizards offers a fun and intellectually-challenging Chess education and tournament experience to children of all ages and abilities. Our Chess Classes are held at schools, clubs, and Park Districts throughout Chicago and the  Chicagoland area.

The adaptive Chess Wizards program is designed for all levels of young chess players. The kids are divided into Novice Wizards, Intermediate Wizards, and Advanced Wizards. As a child masters his or her current wizardry program, he or she is promoted to the next level.

Wizard Level 3 or Beginner: No previous experience of chess is required. Students will learn the fundamentals of Chess such as the board layout and setup, piece values, castling, check and checkmate, and pawn promotion.

Wizard Level 2 or Intermediate: Students enrolled in this level should be able to play a complete game. Players will learn basic Chess tactics such as pawn promotion and forking.

Wizard Level 1 or Advanced: Students in this level should be able to understand the basic Chess tactics such as promoting the pawn and basic forking. Students will learn more advanced strategies and tactics such as advanced forks, pins, discovered checks, and multi-move checkmates. Chess players in this level will also learn Chess openings.

You can challenge yourself by solving a variety of Chess Puzzles. Bring them to your Chess Wizard and get EXTRA POINTS!
